When To Ask For Help….

As I learn more and more from each of my amazing clients, from reading the research articles related to various issues, and from Borrowing Benefits as I tap along, my mind, body, and spirit are calming day by day. As we calm, my clients and I notice hidden emotions and old memories making their way to the surface. These sometimes surprising reminders are helpful clues on what’s behind some of our current behaviors and emotional imbalances. Often they make us smile as the light bulb appears over our heads: “Ahhhhh, THAT’S why I do that.” The puzzle pieces start to fall into place around a particular issue and we are slowly able to neutralize the emotional imbalance around it. We sigh, we might yawn, or even laugh as what was such a mystery before now becomes completely obvious. “Why didn’t I see that before?” Simply put, it’s because we weren’t calm enough to see it. We were still in an emotional wad about it and there was little, if any, clarity.

It’s great when it’s easy to finally see and appreciate the importance of those memories or hidden emotions. But sometimes when those memories come up, they are scary and maybe bigger than we are ready to deal with at the moment. If we are tapping on our own, this can lead to discomfort and maybe even panic about what to do with this new information. If you are tapping alone, you can ‘sneak away‘ from the intensity of the emotions coming up. Keep tapping on the side of the hand while you repeat “Even though this is more than I want to deal with right now, I completely love and accept myself. Even though I don’t think I’m ready to handle this now, I love, accept, and forgive myself. Even though I know I need to work with this more later, I completely love and accept myself.” Perhaps even do a 9 Gamut procedure to get ‘unstuck’ and to reduce the intensity.

Once you’ve reduced the intensity so that you feel safe, you may want to think about contacting a professional EFT coach to help you through these memories and emotions. You don’t have to do it alone. So many times all you need is one EFT session with a coach to restore balance and provide you with some specific tools to help you help yourself with an issue.

Keep Calm and Tap On!

Please remember: It's important to contact a professional if things feel too big for you, whether it be a physician, psychologist, psychiatrist, or certified EFT practitioner. Never discontinue your current medications without first consulting your doctor.
