One thing I’ve noticed since I started tapping is that my days go better and I am definitely in a better frame of mind if I tap every day. People are nicer, I feel better physically, fewer things go wrong, and I smile more. Maybe tapping makes me calmer so things don’t ruffle my feathers as easily. Maybe it’s the simple act of doing something for myself each day. Maybe I’m getting things resolved so I carry around less baggage. Whatever the reason, I know it helps.
People usually ask me how often I tap. I definitely tap daily, at least once, and as many as 5 or 6 times each day. It depends on what’s going on. “But what do you tap on?” I’ve found that when I tap daily, I am more aware of my feelings and emotions and how my body is doing. That means I’m more aware of things to tap on! And even if there’s nothing that needs tapping at the moment, just the simple act of tapping on or touching and holding the points has immediate and long-term benefits. Recently I’ve seen ads from several EFT coaches who offer daily tapping challenges for different lengths of time. This is a great way to build a new habit. Or you can challenge yourself by setting a daily tapping goal that seems easy for you to maintain, whether it’s 3 minutes or 60 minutes. Check your calendar and choose 30 days to start this awesome new habit. If you miss a day, that’s a perfect opportunity for tapping: “Even though I missed a day yesterday, I completely accept myself and I’m tapping today!” Another great way to start is to choose a tapping buddy or two and share your experiences and results with each other. Having that gentle level of accountability can be very helpful.
Try it! Just tap. Tap the points. Find words or not. But just tap.
