Last weekend I had the honor of playing music with beautiful and awesome friends for a weekend-long event. The main band hired for the event is internationally known and has been tops in their field for a long, long time. Intimidated? Yes I was. Did I Tap? You bet I did. Often. I tackled each stressful item as it came up and was able to keep myself from getting in a wad. I am so thankful to have this simple and powerful tool to keep me from melting down before the event, at the sight of the other band members during our sound check, and then seeing them at our performances.
As we gain more experience Tapping on our physical and emotional issues, we learn to recognize them as soon as they appear and then we can work on them right away before they get buried and start causing more trouble. I am truly amazed at how well everything went because I was able to prevent the stress from building into a big mess. We played our best and everyone had a great time!
If you find yourself in a stressful situation at home or work, take a moment to notice what you are feeling and where you are feeling it in your body. Make a guess about how intense your stress is at that moment on a scale from 0-10. As soon as you are able, find the time and place to create a Setup Statement based on the situation, and then do a round or several of Tapping using Reminder Statements on all the points to see what comes up. Maybe the situation reminds you of something or someone. Do a little detective work and see what you can release with Tapping. One stress at a time. You will be thankful you did.
Keep Calm and Tap On!
